Sorry to miss the meeting tonight, I was hacking away to make the groupsATstanford template as compatible as possible. You can find it here:

Except for a 2-pixel nudge of the menu bar to the right in IE that is driving me crazy (any ideas?). this design is stable across all major browsers I have access to (UPDATE: IE 5 on the Mac doesn’t show the “imagedisplay” featured images). Try it in Mozilla Firefox or Apple’s Safari browser to get the best experience.

Please mess around with it, play with the widgets, roll over the buttons, and comment on what you find and think. Are the categories right? How’s the contextual information on the left? Is it too busy visually? Not busy enough? Boring? Shocking?

Once the main layout is stabilized, I’ll move on to the individual sections’ display and the main index page display (”the dashboard”, I like to call it). Then we can start cramming MovableType into tight spaces to do what we want it to.

Ok, I’m narrowing it down–the IE problem has something to do with the logo DIV; when I remove it, the problem goes away. So now I need to float it to the left without introducing this problem. The same style as the DIVs below doesn’t seem to do the trick…that being absolute positioning and margins that push them past each other…

Ok, I think I got it. Anyone able to test on the mac for me? Strange request, I know…but WebKit failed on me and now I can’t open Safari…
