Check out the beta RSS feeds (still on our dev server). There are full versions with images and full descriptions and lite versions. I subscribe to the full versions of the Today’s and Lectures feeds in Outlook using NewsGator and it’s really awesome — I feel informed!

For those unfamiliar with the technology, it’s like this: instead of signing up to get an email about events, you subscribe to the RSS feed in a feed reader program. This way your computer pulls the information off the feed continuously, rather than relying on the service provider to generate thousands of email messages and send them to everyone who subscribes. It gives a lot more flexibility and portability too.

For the techheads in the crowd, perhaps you could get back to me on suggestions on how to improve the xml files, or generally make things better before these go live on Events at Stanford.
