Macworld Report

Back from Macworld and I can report…very little. The show was much smaller this year than last, and Apple itself was introducing fewer products. The mini iPods are very slick, and the design looks like the way iPods should have been from the start.
The best comments I heard were about the masterful way Apple staged the Keynote. My friend noted “it didn’t even matter to you what Steve was going to introduce. By the time the lights had swung to focus on the stage, music was playing, and Steve was saying ‘we’ve worked really hard on this and we’re excited to bring it to you’, you were already reaching for your wallet.” This is not to say showmanship will overcome a bad product; but rather that when you have a deservingly good product, to make sure to present it in an appropriately important way.
