This report tells us. Interestingly, “Look for info on a hobby” and “Look for info about movies, books, or other leisure activities” ranked pretty high, with 21 and 13 percent of Internet users, respectively, doing so on a daily basis.

Discussion links
I’ve been a big proponent of discussion links attached to event postings. This would allow people to post comments both anticipating the event and commenting on it after the fact. My concept of this functionality is much like the discussion on Slashdot

WozNet
An article in the NY Times describes Steve Wozniaks WozNet, based on little GPS/radio transmitters. Put them on your dog, your kid, your key chain and you can keep track of them at all times, be notified when they are in particular places, etc. Here’s the article: Apple Co-Founder Creates Electronic ID Tags
More map-style interfaces
The Drums of War could be easily converted to “Drums of Action”–imagine a cacophony of drumming leading you to the cool stuff on campus.
